AWP Positions on CS2 Maps: Preaim and Holds with the Sniper
The AWP has its own spots on every map: where to hold the angle, where to pre-place the crosshair, where to fall back after the shot. This is map-specific memory, and it trains separately from aim — otherwise even a perfect snap leaves you in the wrong spot, dying first. One workshop map gathers the real AWP spots of all 7 active-duty maps — one map per 15-minute run.
How many minutes of this drill do you actually need? DrillMaster decides from your matches — and schedules it when it pays off most.

Drilling standard AWP positions and crosshair placement on a specific map: where to hold an angle with the AWP, where to pre-set your crosshair, and where to fall back after a shot. Map-specific muscle memory for the AWP.
How to train it
Map: the "AWP positions" workshop map. Subscribe → launch through "Play → Workshop Maps", then pick the active-duty map you need inside.
Routine (15 min): 1. 2 min: walk through the key AWP spots on your chosen map (long, mid, holding angles), memorize the crosshair-placement lines. 2. 10 min: at each position — crosshair already on the angle, fire on sight, then IMMEDIATELY pull back into cover. Repeat each position 5-8 times. 3. 3 min: chain "pick → reposition → second angle" like in a real round.
Common mistakes: aiming at the floor/wall instead of the body line; lingering after a shot (a match punishes that instantly); learning exotic spots instead of the map's real AWP angles.
Metric: clean positions in a row with no misses; the payoff — you hold an AWP angle more confidently in a real match on that map.
