Where to Train in CS2: Servers and Maps
Training in CS2 stands on two legs: workshop maps build the mechanics (flicks, spray, prefire), live servers transfer them to real people (DM, HSDM, retakes). Below is a short map of proven places — which servers are alive, what each mode trains, and which workshop map to start with. Every entry links to a drill with a minute-by-minute protocol.
Deathmatch servers
Workshop maps build the mechanics, deathmatch transfers them to live people. Three proven places:
- cybershoke.net — hundreds of CS2 servers: HSDM (only headshots count), classic FFA, Pistol DM, AWP DM and 1v1 arenas. Free, Steam sign-in.
- warmupserver.net — free FFA and a Headshot mode with no extra setup — join and warm up.
- xplay.gg — DM servers that show the lobby's average FACEIT level — you see who you are playing against.

Retake servers
Retakes are the training mode closest to a real match: 3v3–4v4 on the bombsite, a defuse timer, decisions under pressure. Servers — on Cybershoke (the Retake section) or via the 'Retake' tag in the community server browser.
Workshop maps
Mechanics are built on workshop maps: subscribe in the Steam Workshop and launch via 'Play → Workshop Maps'. The core set: Aim Botz (flicks and tracking), Fast Aim/Reflex (first-shot speed), Recoil Master (spray), Yprac Hub (prefire routes and lineups), plus the AWP-positions and jump-spots maps.
